June 14: Wick and back

For me, one of the top five scenic routes in the UK. It's a long journey, over 4hrs for the 160miles, half that time for the 100miles by road.

But first, this is the finest fish (& game) shop for miles and miles:

Duncan Fraser, Inverness
Clacknaharry, northern end of Caledonian Canal
Dingwall station
Tain station

Tain station
Glenmorangie distillery
Glenmorangie distillery
Abhaine na Frithe
Loch Lucy
Wick

River Helmsdale
Helmsdale station
Portgower
Lothbeg
Brora
Dunrobin Castle station. Open only when castle is open
Dunrobin Castle
Cromarty bridge
Conan Bridge
Beauly Firth
Clacknaharry
Kessock bridge
That was another fine day.
